Even though it’s been a year, I wanted to write about this trip as its been one of my most favourite holiday’s (also because it was our honeymoon). Taking you through the most magical 10 days, with suggestions of the amazing hotels, restaurants & experiences that I had + a whole lot of pictures which don’t do justice to the place at all.

Lake Como:

So we started our trip with this perfect picture postcard little place. The lake is surrounded by cute little towns which are all connected by the ferry so you can choose to go to a new town everyday. We stayed in Tremezzo, at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, which is probably the best property I’ve ever stayed at. The perfect European charm with round staircases filled with flower baskets, yummy lavish breakfasts and the perfect combination of the hills + lake. It was the perfect first destination, as we just wanted to relax & unwind after all the wedding madness.  We made day trips to Bellagio, a cute little town with lots of small stores to explore & Como, the main city of the area.

Restaurant Recommendations:

Our hotel gave us some lovely restaurant suggestions which was great as it’s otherwise hard to find the right places in a small town like Tremezzo. An amazing restaurant with great wine was La Darsena. Al Veluu, a cliff top restaurant is a must must go, for an amazing view and some really good food.

Florence:

The heartbeat of Italy. So charming & so cultured & so much gelato & aperol!!!! We stayed at a property called Il Salviatino. Located around half an hour away from the centre of Duomo, slightly on the hill top, this property had an amazing castle like feel, with the most amazing library I have ever seen. Our room was huge, and we even had our own personal library inside our room. We binged on buying shoes & eating gelatos. We took out a day for visiting a vineyard – Colle Beretto Winery, Radda in Chianti. We were lucky since it wasn’t the peak tourist time we were the only one’s visiting because of which we got to have lunch inside the owner’s charming little cottage with the meal prepared for us specially by the caretaker. It was an amazing experience tasting different wines and going through the whole process.

Restaurant Recommendations:

So I don’t have too many specific restaurant recommendations for Florence as we were mostly just getting food at little local cafe’s while we walked around the Duomo area. But a few good specific recommendations would be – Caffe Gilli, right in the centre of Duomo area in front of the carousel, it’s always buzzing & amazing to get a feel of the entire city. It’s one of the old iconic cafe’s in Florence. I don’t eat beef, but I tried their beef lasagna and it was to die for. Obica Mozzarella Bar, great food & crowd, Terrace Bar Lungarno, a rooftop bar & lounge with an amazing view of the city, best to grab a few drinks there and then head for dinner.

Positano/Amalfi Coast:

IMG_9198

We stayed in Positano – the most dreamiest place I’ve ever been to. Positano is filled with pastel coloured houses and little lanes with the cutest boutiques, restaurants & gelato parlours. We stayed at – Il San Pietro, and had the most amazing room which was right on the sea (pictures below). We took day trips to Sorrento, Ravello, Amalfi & Capri. Positano is the ideal place to stay as all the other towns are just an hour away from there and easily approachable, so you can go to a new town everyday!

Restaurant Recommendations:

Positano: The highlight of all the restaurants I had been to on my trip was  – Le Sirenuse, it had the most magical & romantic dinner setting, brilliant food and there was even a guy playing the guitar who was personally going to every table and singing their favourite songs. It’s the perfect date night restaurant. Chez Black in Positano was amazing too, lively and great food.
