Flower Power Popsicles

9 / 26 / 18

I’m kind of obsessed with edible flowers and want to use them to decorate everything possible. I stumbled upon these cute edible flower popsicle’s on Lauren Conrad and just had to give them a shot. Recipe is from Kitchy Kitchen. Love how refreshing and mildly flavoured these are and since they’re transparent the flowers look super pretty. Cute idea for sunny lunches, also the edible flowers can also be used in ice cubes to add that touch of pretty to your cocktails & mocktails!

Ingredients:

For the popsicles:

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 1/4 cup rose syrup
  • edible flowers ( I got mine from FoodHall)
  • ice cream molds+ ice cream sticks

For the rose syrup:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon rosewater

Instructions:

  1. Combine sugar and water over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Cook for an additional 5 minutes as it simmers. Take off heat and add the rosewater. Cool completely.
  2. Stir together the coconut water and syrup. Place 3 to 5 flowers in each ice cream mold and fill with coconut water mixture.
  3. Pop in the freezer until your edible flower popsicles are completely frozen. Take the popsicles out of the mold and enjoy!

DIY Flower Cones

9 / 19 / 189 / 19 / 18

A pretty & simple idea to get a smile on someone’s face!

IMG_1239
doily cones are the cutest!

Simply wrap around a doily or tissue or any pretty paper and seal it with a pretty tape, sticker or tie a ribbon around it.

Its perfect to leave on someone’s desk at work, pop it in a gift bag with a card, make return favors for your girls at a dinner. These would also look super cute if used to hold petals at a wedding and kept together in a basket. You could also put in homegrown flowers from your garden. Easy peasy and cute (:

Breakfast Bowl

8 / 10 / 189 / 19 / 18

I’ve lately been obsessed with all these pretty breakfast bowls that I’ve been seeing all over Instagram. Since I wanted to figure out some healthy breakfast options and I’m not much of a cook I thought I’d give this muesli in a bowl with yoghurt a quick shot. Recipe is easy peasy and it looks amazing too if decorated cutely.

Things You Need-

  • Muesli
  • Greek Yoghurt
  • Berries (Blueberries, Strawberries)- whatever you like
  • Edible Flowers (I got mine from Foodhall but you could obviously pluck the right ones from your garden and give them a good wash)

Soak the muesli overnight so it becomes soft. Bring out a nice bowl. Put in the yoghurt, I used Epigamia Greek Strawberry Yoghurt. Top it with muesli. Decorate around with berries and flowers and tada! Looks super cute and is healthy too (:

Italy

5 / 25 / 188 / 10 / 18

Even though it’s been a year, I wanted to write about this trip as its been one of my most favourite holiday’s (also because it was our honeymoon). Taking you through the most magical 10 days, with suggestions of the amazing hotels, restaurants & experiences that I had + a whole lot of pictures which don’t do justice to the place at all.

Lake Como:

So we started our trip with this perfect picture postcard little place. The lake is surrounded by cute little towns which are all connected by the ferry so you can choose to go to a new town everyday. We stayed in Tremezzo, at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, which is probably the best property I’ve ever stayed at. The perfect European charm with round staircases filled with flower baskets, yummy lavish breakfasts and the perfect combination of the hills + lake. It was the perfect first destination, as we just wanted to relax & unwind after all the wedding madness.  We made day trips to Bellagio, a cute little town with lots of small stores to explore & Como, the main city of the area.

Restaurant Recommendations:

Our hotel gave us some lovely restaurant suggestions which was great as it’s otherwise hard to find the right places in a small town like Tremezzo. An amazing restaurant with great wine was La Darsena. Al Veluu, a cliff top restaurant is a must must go, for an amazing view and some really good food.

Florence:

IMG_9191

The heartbeat of Italy. So charming & so cultured & so much gelato & aperol!!!! We stayed at a property called Il Salviatino. Located around half an hour away from the centre of Duomo, slightly on the hill top, this property had an amazing castle like feel, with the most amazing library I have ever seen. Our room was huge, and we even had our own personal library inside our room. We binged on buying shoes & eating gelatos. We took out a day for visiting a vineyard – Colle Beretto Winery, Radda in Chianti. We were lucky since it wasn’t the peak tourist time we were the only one’s visiting because of which we got to have lunch inside the owner’s charming little cottage with the meal prepared for us specially by the caretaker. It was an amazing experience tasting different wines and going through the whole process.

Restaurant Recommendations:

So I don’t have too many specific restaurant recommendations for Florence as we were mostly just getting food at little local cafe’s while we walked around the Duomo area. But a few good specific recommendations would be – Caffe Gilli, right in the centre of Duomo area in front of the carousel, it’s always buzzing & amazing to get a feel of the entire city. It’s one of the old iconic cafe’s in Florence. I don’t eat beef, but I tried their beef lasagna and it was to die for. Obica Mozzarella Bar, great food & crowd, Terrace Bar Lungarno, a rooftop bar & lounge with an amazing view of the city, best to grab a few drinks there and then head for dinner.

Positano/Amalfi Coast:

IMG_9198

We stayed in Positano – the most dreamiest place I’ve ever been to. Positano is filled with pastel coloured houses and little lanes with the cutest boutiques, restaurants & gelato parlours. We stayed at – Il San Pietro, and had the most amazing room which was right on the sea (pictures below). We took day trips to Sorrento, Ravello, Amalfi & Capri. Positano is the ideal place to stay as all the other towns are just an hour away from there and easily approachable, so you can go to a new town everyday!

Restaurant Recommendations:

Positano: The highlight of all the restaurants I had been to on my trip was  – Le Sirenuse, it had the most magical & romantic dinner setting, brilliant food and there was even a guy playing the guitar who was personally going to every table and singing their favourite songs. It’s the perfect date night restaurant. Chez Black in Positano was amazing too, lively and great food.

Curating The Perfect Coffee Table

11 / 15 / 178 / 10 / 18

IMG_4731

Cosy Coffee Tables

Cute coffee tables are so important. They make homes so much more charming and reveal the personality of their owners. Today I’m going to try and give you a breakdown of how you can curate the perfect coffee table.

  1. Coffee Table Books – Pick the ones that reflect your tastes and interests. The one on mine is All in Good Taste – Kate Spade. I’ve also kept pretty little book folders with my favorite pictures and little memory keepsakes inside them.
  2. Trinkets From Your Travels – I have a little eiffel tower dish that I got from Paris. Its always nice to have something from your latest travel on your table as it sparks conversation with guests.
  3. Favourite Candles Of The Season – I’m very big on scented candles. Specially the ones that come in cute jars.  They just make the mood and vibe of the place a whole lot cozier. You could keep changing the candles according to fragrances that go with the season. For example something like Peppermint & Candy would be nice to keep around christmas or floral fragrances around spring time. I’ve currently kept- Bath and Body Works – Fresh Cut Lilacs Scented Candle and a candle with a mixed floral scent that I picked up at Anthropologie.
  4. Blooms To Add Colour – Flowers are always nice. I haven’t kept fresh flowers here but it’s always nicer with those around. Im a sucker for great packaging and hate throwing it away. So I’ve used my empty Diptique candle box here to hold the flowers.
